Why I Became a Travel Agent (and Why You Don’t Have to Do This Alone)
If you’ve ever planned a trip and thought, “Why does this feel like a full-time job?” — you’re not wrong.
I became a travel agent because I genuinely love travel, but even more than that, I love planning it. I’m a wife and a mom of four, and when my family travels — whether it’s just us or extended trips with my parents — I’m always the go-to planner. Flights, hotels, rental cars, itineraries… that’s my lane.
I’ve been thinking about becoming a travel agent for years. I kept asking myself what business would truly fit my life, my personality, and something I’d actually enjoy doing long-term. The answer kept coming back to the same thing: travel.
Yes, there are sites like Booking.com and Expedia. They’re convenient. But convenience isn’t the same as support — and that’s where people get overwhelmed.
The Part People Don’t Talk About When Booking Travel
Here’s the honest truth: booking travel today can feel like playing the stock market.
Prices change constantly. You hesitate, you wait, and suddenly the price jumps. Or the room you wanted disappears. Or the flight that made sense yesterday is gone today.
That’s the most frustrating part for me personally — knowing you need to lock something in, but also wanting to make the right decision. And when you’re juggling work, kids, schedules, and life? That pressure hits harder.
Even though I enjoy planning, I still understand how stressful it can be.
What Working With a Travel Agent Actually Looks Like
Most people don’t realize how much a travel agent really handles.
When you work with me, I:
-
Price watch so you’re not constantly checking your phone
-
Set up payment arrangements so you don’t have to pay everything at once
-
Handle hotels, flights, car rentals, excursions, and travel insurance
-
Deal with travel issues so you don’t have to sit on hold or figure it out alone
Instead of throwing endless options at you, I focus on what works for you. Your budget. Your travel style. Your comfort level.
I typically provide two to three solid options — not overwhelming lists — so you can choose confidently.
“I Can Just Book It Myself” — And You Can
And you’re right — you can book it yourself.
But you don’t have to.
My role isn’t to take away your control; it’s to take away your stress. I help you find options that make sense financially, feel good emotionally, and actually fit what you’re looking for.
I specialize in luxury on a budget, and I lead with a warm, personal approach. You’re not just a confirmation number to me. I want you to feel heard, supported, and excited — not anxious.
Who I Work With
I don’t box myself into one type of traveler.
I work with:
-
Busy moms
-
Couples
-
Friend groups
-
Birthday and girls’ trips
-
First-time travelers
-
Anyone who needs help making travel easier
If you’re traveling and you want someone in your corner, I’m for you.
If There’s One Thing I Want You to Know
You don’t have to do this alone.
Travel should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Supported, not stressful. Thoughtful, not rushed.
If you read this and thought, “She gets me” that’s exactly who I’m here for.
✈️💛
